Terran Orbital Boosts PCB Assembly Capacity to 5,000 Units per Month

October 16, 2023, BOCA RATON, Fla.– Terran Orbital (NYSE: LLAP), a prominent name in satellite-based solutions serving the aerospace and defense industries, has officially unveiled two cutting-edge Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) lines in Irvine, California. This significant move towards vertical integration is poised to strengthen Terran Orbital’s supply chain control and improve the efficiency of PCB assembly processes.

The newly added PCBA Surface Mount Technology (SMT) lines, coupled with advanced post-SMT capabilities such as fully automated inspection, 3-dimensional X-ray testing, Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), and flying probe technologies, enable Terran Orbital to take full charge of the production, inspection, and testing of an extensive range of PCBAs within its own facility.

This transformation will empower the company to produce module and bus products with greater efficiency, leading to shorter and more predictable delivery times for its customers, a crucial advantage in the ever-evolving space industry.

“I’m a big believer that if you control your supply chain, you control your destiny,” explained Marc Bell, CEO, Co-Founder, and Chairman of Terran Orbital. Bell added, “Our two new PCBA lines bring us one step closer to our goal of being 100% vertically integrated.”

Terran Orbital, renowned for its end-to-end satellite solutions encompassing satellite design, production, launch planning, mission operations, and on-orbit support, primarily caters to the aerospace and defense sectors. The company’s commitment to innovation and self-reliance aligns with its vision for a more responsive and efficient space industry.
