October 04, 2023, MCLEAN, Va.– Booz Allen Hamilton has proudly announced its recent procurement of a significant seven-year, $630-million contract from the U.S. Space Force. This collaboration is set to bolster systems engineering and integration, specifically targeting next-generation space-based missile warning, environmental monitoring, and surveillance, reconnaissance, and tracking.

As part of this pivotal initiative, Booz Allen will be working closely with the Space Systems Command (SSC), the designated Space Force field command for space-centric endeavors such as development, acquisition, launch, and logistics. The primary objective is to engineer robust space sensing capabilities. A notable aspect of this partnership is the integration of the Next Generation Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) program, a substantial $14.4 billion initiative aimed at enhancing U.S. missile warning and tracking systems to counteract emerging missile threats.

The overarching goal is to aid the Space Force in realizing its vision of a comprehensive Digital Service, emphasizing the pivotal role of space in delivering crucial decision-making data to both warfighters and intelligence agencies.

Eric Hoffman, vice president and leader in Booz Allen’s space business, highlighted the significance of this partnership, stating, “This contract win is a key element of Booz Allen’s long-term, multiyear space strategy to meet client needs at the intersection of mission and technology.”

Their extensive portfolio includes multifaceted support for the International Space Station, NASA infrastructure modernization, the Artemis mission, and the Cybersecurity and Privacy Enterprise Solutions and Services (CyPrESS) contract.
