September 22, 2023, CENTENNIAL, Colo., The U.S. Space Force Space Systems Command has granted True Anomaly, Inc., a technology firm dedicated to ensuring global security through space access and sustainability, a $17.4 million Phase III Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract.
This award will facilitate the delivery of a comprehensive suite of Space Domain Awareness (SDA) applications by True Anomaly. These applications, designed to harness the capabilities of robust analytics and scalable AI, aim to bolster human-machine collaboration, thereby enhancing efficiency across all facets of SDA operations.
True Anomaly’s Mosaic™ software, an integrated operating system tailored for every dimension of space domain awareness and security, will be the platform through which these applications are delivered.
True Anomaly’s CEO, Even Rogers, emphasized the growing significance of space in national security missions. He noted the increasing complexity in maintaining awareness in the domain, which has led to a surge in operational demands for both Guardians and infrastructure. Rogers stated, “Modern SDA is about much more than collision avoidance—it’s about delivering the right information at the right time to the right decision-maker. The rapid global launch cadence has out-paced DoD’s ability to fuse SDA data. Our application suite directly addresses this gap with scalable automation intended to be a force multiplier for SDA operators. The software has been carefully architected to continuously adapt to the rapidly evolving domain.”
It’s noteworthy that this Phase III contract was awarded to True Anomaly following their impressive performance in an accelerated Direct to Phase II contract. Under this contract, the company successfully completed an initial 21-month scope of work in a mere four months.
